The Spiritual Cinema Circle initially grew out of the team effort between film producer Stephen Simon and psychologists Kathlyn and Gay Hendricks, Stephen had created a lot of well loved movies with spiritual subject matter, such as "Somewhere in Time" and "What Dreams May Come," and had provided numerous talks and seminars on the appearance of genre of Spiritual Cinema. At that time Kathlyn and Gay had given life to a non-profit foundation devoted to creating a new sensibility in mass media. The Hollywood studios didn’t seem to believe there are viewers for movies with heart and soul. At the same time there are a lot of people all over the world who are not enjoying the movies much anymore simply because they're all tired of the brutality and stupidity of the common Hollywood stuff. So the team explored the film festivals, and discovers the best spiritual-themed movies Hollywood is taking no notice, and takes them to people at home. They asked publicity agent Arielle Ford and entertainment lawyer Cynthia Litman to unite with them in establishing the groundwork of The Circle. Nobody took any salaries in the early day everything was all accomplished as a labor of love. After 3 months, The Circle, got an interesting write-up in Newsweek Magazine, which was then subsequently followed by numerous stories in other media outlets and at present, it became America’s fastest growing DVD club that specializes in uplifting and inspiring independent films!
